How To: Gardens and Raised Beds
Created for and New Gardeners.

Gardening season is finally here, and we’re ready to help you grow your best garden yet! At Wakefield BioChar, we believe healthy soil is the key to strong, thriving plants. That’s where our biochar comes in.
Biochar improves soil by adding air pockets, holding in moisture, and giving nutrients a serious boost. Your plants will get what they need to grow strong—this season and beyond.
How to Use Biochar in Your Garden:
- Containers: You can use our garden blend as 100% of your potting mix or mix it 50/50 with other soil. It’s flexible and easy to work with.
- Raised Beds: For the best results, mix in biochar at about 10% of your total soil volume. If your bed is 4x8 feet and 10–12 inches deep, you’ll need around 2 cubic feet of biochar.
- In-Ground Planting: Covering a 4x8-foot garden plot? Mix in biochar 6–10 inches deep and use one cubic foot to hit that 10% sweet spot.
No matter how you garden, adding biochar will make a big difference. It’s one of the easiest ways to support healthy roots and better harvests.
Don’t wait until the season is halfway over—get your Wakefield BioChar now and let’s get growing!
Happy gardening!
