Additionally, adding biochar to feed keeps chickens healthy by combatting ingested bacteria already in the chickens’ digestive system. Biochar can also be added to litter to reduce the spread of footpad disease and the amount of ammonia released by manure. Overall, biochar creates healthier animals the grow to larger sizes and remain healthy.
